Summarize emails, ask about PDFs and rewrite text on Windows
Select an email in Microsoft Edge and SideNote Pro summarizes it. Expand it into a full workspace, attach the project brief as a PDF, and ask what the launch needs: the answer points to the pages it came from.

Work with selected text
Select text in another Windows app, then rewrite, translate, explain or ask about it, with the answer beside your work.
Rewrite selected text without copy and paste
Select a rough paragraph in Notepad, press Ctrl+Shift+Q and choose Rewrite. The popup offers Replace selection, to put the clearer version where you wrote it, or Insert after.
Translate text and replies without copy and paste
Select a customer email written in Spanish, and the Translate popup shows it in English beside the message, with nothing copied between windows.
Ask AI about selected text without copy and paste
Select a paragraph and press Ctrl+Shift+A. The selection appears in the SideNote Pro message box and waits for your own question about it.
Explain contract clauses in plain language
Select a service-credit clause in a contract open in Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+Shift+Q and choose Explain. The popup sets out the threshold, the credit, the cap and the exceptions in plain terms.
Ask about documents and folders
Attach a PDF or Word file, or point SideNote Pro at a project folder, and ask about what is in them.
Ask AI questions about PDF and Word documents
Attach a 16-page employee handbook PDF and ask how many vacation days you get and how early to book them. The answer cites the page each detail came from.
Chat with local files using AI
Add a project folder in Settings, then ask about the files in it. The folder is indexed, and only the most relevant excerpts are sent with your question.

Keep a profile for each provider and model you use, and switch between them as the work changes.
