1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms apply to your use of the SideNote Pro application and this website, both provided by BediniLabs. By installing or using SideNote Pro, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use SideNote Pro.

2. What SideNote Pro is

SideNote Pro is a desktop application that provides a compact interface to AI services you select and configure yourself. It is a client, not an AI service.

BediniLabs does not operate an AI backend for SideNote Pro, does not host your conversations, and does not resell AI capacity. SideNote Pro does not require a SideNote Pro account.

3. System requirements

SideNote Pro currently targets Windows 11 x64. Using it also requires:

• an internet connection to reach your chosen AI provider;
• an account with an AI provider that exposes an OpenAI-compatible API;
• a valid API key for that provider.

4. Bring-your-own-key AI providers

You supply your own AI provider configuration: the API endpoint, the model and your personal API key. SideNote Pro sends your requests to that endpoint on your behalf.

You are responsible for keeping your API key secure and for any use made of it through SideNote Pro on your device.

5. Third-party AI services

The AI provider you configure is an independent third party. Your use of that provider is governed by your agreement with them, and you must comply with their terms of service and acceptable use policies.

Provider availability, performance, rate limits, model behaviour, pricing and policy changes are outside the control of BediniLabs. SideNote Pro is designed around OpenAI-compatible streaming Chat Completions APIs, but compatibility with every provider that describes itself as OpenAI-compatible is not guaranteed.

6. API costs

Any fees charged by your AI provider are your responsibility. BediniLabs does not bill for AI usage, does not receive a share of provider fees, and cannot refund, credit or dispute charges made by a third-party provider. You should review your provider’s pricing and monitor your own usage.

7. Your responsibilities

When using SideNote Pro, you agree that:

• you will use it lawfully and in line with your AI provider’s terms;
• you are responsible for the content you submit, including text and images you attach or capture;
• you will not submit content you are not entitled to share with a third-party AI provider, such as material covered by confidentiality obligations you would breach by doing so;
• you are responsible for the security of the Windows account and device on which SideNote Pro is installed.

8. AI-generated content

Responses shown in SideNote Pro are generated by the third-party AI model you selected. BediniLabs does not review, endorse or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of that output.

AI models can produce content that is incorrect, outdated, biased or misleading, and can state inaccurate information confidently. You should independently verify anything important before relying on it, and you should not treat AI output as professional advice — legal, medical, financial or otherwise.

9. Software availability and changes

SideNote Pro is under active development. Features may be added, changed or removed, and updates may be released at any time. BediniLabs does not guarantee that any particular feature will be maintained indefinitely, and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the software or this website.

10. Intellectual property

SideNote Pro, its name, its icon and the content of this website are the property of BediniLabs. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of them to you. Content you write, and output generated for you by your AI provider, are not claimed by BediniLabs; your rights in AI output are determined by your agreement with that provider.

11. Disclaimers

SideNote Pro is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by applicable law. This includes any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. BediniLabs does not warrant that SideNote Pro will be error-free, that it will work with every OpenAI-compatible provider, or that AI output obtained through it will be accurate or fit for your purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BediniLabs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits or business interruption, arising from your use of SideNote Pro. This includes charges incurred with a third-party AI provider and decisions taken on the basis of AI-generated output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as SideNote Pro develops. When they change, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of SideNote Pro after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
