Windows AI assistant

Keep the assistant beside the app you are using, then ask about what is on your screen and get back to work.

  • Windows AI sidebar

    Dock the assistant to the screen edge, retract it to a slim leash and bring it back with a global shortcut.

  • Selected-text actions

    Select text in any Windows app, then summarize, rewrite, explain or translate it from one menu and put the answer back with one click.

  • Screenshots and images

    Capture a region, window or screen and ask about it from the same panel. Paste or drag in images too.

Writing and editing

Fix, shorten or translate text where you typed it, and stay in control of every response.

  • Inline commands

    Type /fix, /short or /formal before your text, press Tab and the rewrite replaces it in the same field.

  • Inline translation

    Write in your own language, start with /en and press Tab to translate it to English in the same field.

  • Response rendering and controls

    Read formatted answers and copy them cleanly. Stop, continue or regenerate a response, or edit your request.

Documents and knowledge

Ask about files and folders on your PC. Reading and indexing happen locally, and you decide what goes into a request.
